:: First FIAF´s Meeting, in 2009, occurs in Mexico City ::

During the 22 nd edition of the Internation Franchise Expo (Feria Internacional de Franquicias), which was held from March 5 th to 7 th, in Mexico City, organized by the Mexican Franchise Association, occurred the first Board of Members´meeting of the FIAF for 2009.

In this occasion, the Mexican Franchise Association, with the Mexican Government, showed a franchise development program in the country, which foresees a great advance for the sector throughout financial credit lines very attractive. The National Franchise Plain (PNF in the Spanish abbreviation) – provides credit lines which in 2009 might reach around US$ 23 million dollar. The candidate for a franchise opening can request until US$ 17 thousand dollar, with the payment deadline in 36 months, with no interests and no guarantees.

After this, the countries members showed information about the development of the sector in the year of 2008 and made their projections to 2009. As it could be seen in the last months, even with the crisis, the franchise sector has being had a fast growing in the region, mainly in the Latin America. Due to this, the group concluded that besides the sector development, the region might received strong investments of the international networks, which search for new markets for develop its expansion projects.

The meeting’s news was the entering of Colombia as a member of the entity, which now has 10 integrated countries - Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Spain, Guatemala, Mexico, Peru, Portugal and Venezuela.

 The next meeting of the entity will occur in October, during the SIF&Co, in Valencia – Spain.
